3 Lessons I Learned from my First Course
How was teaching an online course different from my experience teaching in schools? Here are three things I learned from the experience...
I can't believe it, but I'm done teaching my first online course. It was a whirlwind to write it, promote it, and teach it. The whole time I felt very confident with what I wanted to say, but very nervous about implementing it.
Here are 3 lessons I learned from presenting my first course:
- My students have all the answers: Anytime I got to chat with someone that enrolled in the course I listened diligently. They helped guide what I would focus on in lessons and gave me tons of ideas for future courses and videos.
- It starts with people you know: Looking at the 7 parents that enrolled, I was amazed by the 6 degrees of separation. Only 2 of them were "strangers." The rest were parents I had taken consult calls with, friends of friends, and people I knew from networking. I have more of a village than I even realized, and I'm so grateful.
- I want to do this again: It felt really good to teach again. I can't wait to teach this class again and launch more courses. Thank you to everyone who cheered me on through this experience!

What's New?
🚫 New Video: I am finalllllllly releasing the banned book video Saturday morning! My husband researched books and made me guess why each children's book was banned. Make sure you're subscribed to my channel and have notifications turned on to watch first.
📚 Proud Sister: Sending a big congratulations to my brother who launched his first book last weekend. My brother is a Hellenist reexamining what we know about race and ancient history in the Mediterranean.
