De-influencing School Supplies
Last week I asked you to submit unnecessary school supplies. Here's some of the things companies (and your kids!) want you to impulse buy, but you do not need!
- π "Report covers, die cut letters, and fancy markers just in case they need it for a project. Wait until the project is assigned." M.H.
- π "Expensive new sneakers!" K.L
- ποΈ "Everything new every year! Lunchboxes, Binders, etc- these can last years!" D.M.
- π¦ "Anything with a unicorn on it is double the price." (lots of versions of this! replace unicorn with Spiderman, Bratz, Minecraft, Paw Patrol etc etc etc")
- π "A new backpack every year" -top submission!
A sentiment I heard again and again: If your PTA sells a school supply box- buy that! It will cost more than bargain hunting, but it saves you time, supplies exactly what your child needs, and raises money for your school.

π₯ Video: This Sunday I will release my newest video "3 Things You DON'T Need To Do Before The School Year." I'll dive into common things I saw parents at the beginning of the school year that they thought would help out a teacher but were completely unnecessary. Subscribe to my channel to watch it first!
ποΈ K-2 teachers will love you: If you want to do something really nice for a teacher at your school, buy them this 24 boxes of Crayola crayons. Young children absolutely destroy their crayons, and it's expensive to constantly replace boxes. Right now a bulk pack is 44% off! I used to buy this at full price for my class around January each year.
π Celebrity Memoirs: My guilty pleasure is listening to celebrity memoirs on Audible. My favorite is Busy Phillips' This Will Only Hurt a Little. I barely knew who she was and now I'll always be rooting for her. Use this link for a 30 day free trialβ
πΎ Cutest Earrings: My Nordstrom Sale find? Baublebar's Rose Bubbly earrings are marked down to $29! I actually bought mine a few years ago, and they have lasted. It's nice to have high quality novelty earrings.
