Easy Tip: Stop your child from procrastinating during homework

🕵️‍♂️ Some children are so good at avoiding homework, they could be secret agents.

There's one technique that could change their tune about this...

Have you tried coworking with them?

I'm serious- during your next homework session:

1. Sit down side by side with your child
2. Get your child set up to work
3. Explain their homework directions
4. Then open up your laptop and start working
5. Check in as needed (depending on their age, this could be every 3 minutes or 15)

I do this all the time when I tutor students. I intentionally bring a form with me that I fill out summarizing our session. Once the child gets to work on their math problems, I shut up and start working too.

Suddenly, I'm not the one making them work, or preventing them from playing... I'm coworking with them.

Give it a try! If you don't have any actual work, bring a book, open the mail, meal plan- anything that will make you look like you're working too. If you're calm and focused in work, it could encourage them to do the same.

🛋️ Clean Couches: We have a new couch, so right now my biggest enemies are pet hair, crumbs, dirt, and everything else that gets tracked in the house. These ​giant lint rollers​ have saved the day! It takes me just a few minutes to clean everything off the couch cushions and it absolutely a chore a young child could help with.

🐲 can't put it down: I'm tutoring a child that is deeply invested in Tracy West's ​Dragon Master's series.​ I read some with her and woah..they are good! If you have a reluctant reader that's new to chapter books you should give these a try!

☀️ crunchy: I've been obsessed with ​this granola.​ It's sweet, filled with ancient grains, and has a hint of chocolate. It's soooo good on greek yogurt or...by the handful lol 😅 I've seen it at other grocery stores, but this is by far the best price.
